Plastic Textiles / Textile Plastics

Generative manufacturing processes are able to allow completely new approaches in the design of products and materials. The project “Plastic Textiles/Textile Plastics” deals with the intersection of textile surfaces and threedimensionality.

In a first series of experiments with 3D-Printing structures got developed, that offer characteristics of textiles, but also could be used in other functional contexts. For instance as flexible composite building components or as water-resistant outdoor upholsery elements. Furthermore the 3D-printer creates a combination of textile fibres and solid surfaces.
