DESIGN AND VALIDATION OF THE MIROSURGE SURGICAL SYSTEM

In interdisciplinary collaboration with the national German centre for aeronautics and space research and in cooperation with the university hospitals in Munich and Leipzig, an ergonomic and processoptimised workplace for the MiroSurge surgical system was developed. In the versatile telerobotic system for minimally invasive surgery, the surgeon controls up to four robot arms located at the operating table by means of the MIRO-Lab control panel, while observing his interaction with the system on a 3D video image.

Using observation, video analyses and interviews, the wishes of the medical personnel were collected, documented and validated using an evaluation matrix. The aim was to achieve a high degree of practical value for the work with the system.
