Chamäleon – a business travel collection for W. L. Gore & Ass. GmbH

Over the course of evolution, animals have developed astounding mechanisms to help them adapt to habitats and situations. The chameleon, one of the most flexible and versatile animals, was the subject and source of inspiration of this diploma thesis. From camouflaging to attracting attention, meeting dress codes and expressing individuality, classic and innovative styles contrast one another and are united in this collection.

For the concept, data from an analysis of human and animal behavior was reinterpreted before being used. The objective specified by the thesis partner – to design a business travel collection – also required an intensive assessment of the phenomena of dress codes and etiquette. Classical and stylish features have been integrated into the language of the garments to create a suspenseful tension in combination with the dynamic, asymmetric and organic lines of Chamäleon. The garments and accessories are intended to go beyond mere functionality to become one with the wearers and their lives.
